Terms of Service

The short version
Gaia is free. Look after your account, do not abuse the service, and understand that this is a notebook rather than a medical device.
Not medical advice
Gaia records what you tell it and draws charts from it, including percentile curves from the WHO Child Growth Standards. It does not diagnose anything and it is not a substitute for a doctor, midwife or health visitor. If you are worried about your baby, speak to a professional rather than to an app.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details to yourself. Adding someone to your family gives them full access to your baby’s log, including everything recorded before they joined — so add people you trust.
Be deliberate about it, because today that access is hard to take back. Anyone can leave a family from their own Account screen, but there is no way yet to remove somebody else. If you need that, write to us and we will do it by hand while we build it.
You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live to hold an account.
Your data belongs to you
You keep everything you record. We claim no ownership over your log and will not use it for any purpose beyond running the service for you.
Availability
Gaia is free and provided as-is. We work to keep it running and your data safe, but we cannot promise the service will never be unavailable. Keeping your own copy of anything critical is sensible. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from using or being unable to use the app.
Ending it
You can delete your account from inside the app at any time. We may suspend an account that is being used to attack or abuse the service.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect.
